FlyIAA European Training Base

FlyIAA operates its Greek training base through a strategic partnership with Cretan Eagle Aviation Academy, an EASA Approved Training Organisation (ATO Reference: EL.ATO.133).

ATO Certificate

The training base is located at Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport in Heraklion, Crete, one of Greece’s busiest aviation hubs and a dynamic environment for professional flight training.

Ground school is delivered at dedicated academic facilities located close to student accommodation and essential services, ensuring a structured and efficient learning environment for cadets.

This partnership allows FlyIAA students to train within a fully EASA-certified environment, combining European aviation standards, modern aircraft, and experienced airline-trained instructors.

Fleet & Simulation

FlyIAA Greece operates a modern fleet of Diamond training aircraft, widely recognized as industry-leading platforms for professional pilot training.

The fleet includes:

  • Diamond DA40 – used for single-engine flight training with advanced glass cockpit avionics
  • Diamond DA42 – twin-engine aircraft used for multi-engine and advanced training

These aircraft allow students to develop strong operational skills using modern avionics systems aligned with current airline cockpit technology.

To complement flight operations, students also train using the AI Sim ALX flight simulator, enabling safe practice of:

  • Instrument flight procedures
  • Emergency scenarios
  • Advanced operational exercises
  • Complex flight situations

Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport (HER), located in Heraklion, Crete, is the second busiest airport in Greece and a major gateway for international travel in the Mediterranean region.
