September 2026 marked a significant month of growth for FlyIAA, as the academy welcomed its newest generation of cadets across the UAE, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria. United under one identity, the new students form the Tomcat Batch — a new generation of aspiring aviation professionals beginning their journey through FlyIAA’s expanding international training network.

Across the month, FlyIAA’s Induction Days and Open Days brought together more than 400 attendees, including newly enrolled students, prospective students, families, aviation professionals and industry partners. More than a series of events, the September activities reflected the continued development of FlyIAA and the growing reach of its training model across the region.

In the UAE, FlyIAA officially welcomed its September 2026 intake, with 25 students joining the Tomcat Batch. The event brought students and their families together for an introduction to the academy, its program and the opportunities available through its growing network of training locations.

September also marked an important milestone in Iraq, with FlyIAA holding its first Induction Day for students registered through the American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB). Sixteen students joined the Tomcat Batch through the partnership and its EASA internationally recognized licensing pathway, marking the successful launch of a new academic connection between FlyIAA and AUIB.

In Syria, FlyIAA welcomed its first Syrian cadets, with eight students joining the Tomcat Batch as the academy established its presence in the country. The induction was accompanied by an Open Day, introducing prospective students and their families to FlyIAA’s programs, international pathways and opportunities in professional aviation.

In Lebanon, the academy continued its established journey with its September Induction and Open Day, marking Intake No. 22 in the country and welcoming 16 new students. The latest group of students joined the same Tomcat Batch community, connecting FlyIAA’s longstanding Lebanese base with its expanding international network.

One Batch, Multiple Pathways

What connects the Tomcats across these markets is more than the name of their intake. FlyIAA’s expanding network gives students greater flexibility in how they progress through their aviation education.

Students can complete their academic and ground training through FlyIAA’s various bases and partner universities, while their flight training can be carried out through the academy’s operational network in Cyprus and the UAE. This model allows students from different markets to access an international training environment while remaining connected to the same FlyIAA standards and support system.

As the network continues to expand, students are also gaining access to an increasingly developed training ecosystem — one supported by newer aircraft, advanced simulators and continuously upgraded facilities.

Building the Infrastructure Behind the Growth

FlyIAA’s development is not measured only by the number of students entering its programs. Behind every new intake is continued investment in the infrastructure required to support their training.

In Cyprus, students now benefit from an updated fleet, further strengthening the academy’s flight training capabilities and providing access to a modern flying environment.

In the UAE, the development of FlyIAA’s Al Ain operation adds another important element to the academy’s growing training infrastructure, with a dedicated aircraft and hangar supporting flight operations and expanding capacity within the Emirates.

Across its network, FlyIAA continues to invest in aircraft, simulators, facilities and the overall training experience. The objective is to ensure that students are not only receiving theoretical knowledge, but are training in environments that increasingly reflect the technology, procedures and operational standards of the aviation industry they are preparing to enter.

This continued development also means that FlyIAA’s students can move through different stages of their training while remaining part of a connected international ecosystem — from their initial academic and ground training to advanced simulator sessions and flight training.

A Growing International Aviation Network

September therefore represents more than a successful month of inductions. It is a reflection of how FlyIAA is evolving.

The Tomcat Batch now brings together students entering the academy from different markets and through different educational pathways, while remaining connected through one international training network. The UAE, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria represent different points of entry into that network, with FlyIAA’s wider operations and partnerships continuing to create additional opportunities across the Middle East and Europe.

This growth is being supported by new partnerships, expanding facilities, additional aircraft, upgraded training technology and an ongoing focus on improving the student experience.

For FlyIAA, expansion is not simply about reaching more markets. It is about building the infrastructure and partnerships necessary to support students throughout their journey and creating a training environment capable of preparing them for an increasingly global aviation industry.

Flying Toward the January Intake

The September Tomcats are now beginning the next stage of their aviation journey, but their induction also marks the beginning of another chapter for FlyIAA.

With further aircraft entering the network, continued development of flight training facilities, advancements in simulator capabilities, new academic and industry partnerships, and further international expansion on the horizon, FlyIAA is continuing to build for the future.

The academy’s growth is ultimately reflected in the students who now carry the Tomcat identity across its expanding network — from the first Syrian cadets and the inaugural AUIB intake to the latest students joining FlyIAA in the UAE and the continuing generations entering through Lebanon.

As FlyIAA moves forward, its focus remains on developing an international aviation training ecosystem that grows alongside its students: more locations, more aircraft, more advanced training technology and more pathways into aviation.

And with the January 2027 intake now on the horizon, another group of aspiring aviation professionals is preparing to begin their journey with FlyIAA. While the name of the next batch has yet to be announced, the next chapter is already taking shape.

The Tomcats are only beginning their journey. FlyIAA is already flying toward what comes next.
