The Class Rating Instructor course prepares experienced pilots to instruct on single-engine and multi-engine aeroplanes. It is designed in line with FCL.920 requirements to ensure candidates achieve the competence necessary to provide high-quality theoretical, flight, and simulator instruction. Upon completion, you will be qualified to deliver training for class and type ratings on non-complex, non-high-performance aeroplanes for which you are already licensed.

  • Preparing for the instructor proficiency test
  • Entry Requirements:

    For multi-engine aeroplanes:

    • Minimum 500 hours flight time as a pilot on aeroplanes
    • 30 hours as PIC on the applicable class or type of aeroplane

    For single-engine aeroplanes:

    • Minimum 300 hours flight time as a pilot on aeroplanes
    • 30 hours as PIC on the applicable class or type of aeroplane
    • Valid Part-FCL licence
    • Valid Part-MED medical certificate
    • Fulfilment of general instructor prerequisites under FCL.915
    • ICAO English language proficiency Level 4 or higher
