On Wednesday, August 13, FlyIAA Levant hosted its much-anticipated Open Day at the prestigious Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, bringing together aspiring aviators, aviation professionals, and industry leaders for an inspiring and informative event.

A Visionary Welcome

The day began with a welcome speech delivered by Captain Wissam Mehyou, Founder and Chairman of FlyIAA Global. In his remarks, he highlighted both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with pursuing a career in aviation:

The audience also had the opportunity to hear from Dr. Zeina Mehyou, Deputy CEO for Academic Relations, Governance, and Student Experience, alongside Frederico Fernandes, Deputy CEO for Business Development and Innovation. Together, they delivered a comprehensive presentation covering the academy’s history, international training bases, academic programs, and the enrollment process. Their session offered aspiring students and their families a clear understanding of FlyIAA’s vision, its global presence in Lebanon, Cyprus, the UAE, and Greece, and the structured pathways available for those looking to pursue a future in aviation.

A major highlight of the event was a presentation on aviation career prospects, offering a clear roadmap of what awaits graduates. From pilot careers with leading airlines to management roles within the aviation sector, attendees learned about the wealth of opportunities available in this global industry.

An Interactive Experience

What made this Open Day truly special was its interactive format. Guests had the chance to try out flight simulators, giving them a realistic taste of what it feels like to be in the cockpit. Students and parents also engaged directly with instructors and pilots, asking questions about training, career opportunities, and life at the academy. This hands-on approach made the day both educational and exciting, allowing future aviators to connect theory with experience.
